History of a medieval Bible to be discussed at The Aldus Society on November 14, 2013

Eric Johnson, Curator of Early Books and Manuscripts at OSU's Thompson Library, will speak on "Deconstructing and Reconstructing a Medieval Bible."  He will discuss the life of the Hornby-Cockerell Bible which is an example of a rare Bible likely produced in Paris in the 1220s.  The Bible survived intact until 1981 when it was sold at auction and 440 of its leafs were placed for sale.  Currently the Bible is being re-assembled both physically and digitally.  This presentation will be to The Aldus Society, a local bibliophilic society, at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, November 14th at the Thurber Center, 91 Jefferson Avenue.  Admission is free open to the public.
