Explore a different side of Civil War history at the Beyond the Battlefield Civil War Symposium at the Ohio History Center on November 7 and 8. Join historians and members of the Ohio Civil War 150 Advisory Committee as they explore questions of values, equality, and citizenship and come with questions of your own for our panelists.

Admission to the reception is $20/person and advanced registration is required. Saturday, November 8 will feature a day full of panels that are free with admission to the Ohio History Center. For more information, contact Amy Rohmiller at 800.858.6878, 614.297.2609, or arohmiller at ohiohistory.org<mailto:arohmiller at ohiohistory.org>. To register, visit https://connect.ohiohistory.org/events/beyond-the-battlefield-symposium.

The symposium kicks off with a reception at 7pm on November 7 at the Ohio History Center, with an introductory talk by noted military historian and Ohio State University professor Mark Grimsley. Grimsley introduces a topic vital to complete understanding of the Civil War but often lost amid the emphasis on political war measures and battlefield events: the Northern and Southern home fronts
