The Kentucky Council on Archives (KCA) invites you to our 2014 Fall Workshop Event on November 7.

Getting our Hands Dirty: DIY Solutions for Archival Challenges

Cost: $10.00 member/ $15 non-member (add $1 service charge for online registration). Parking is additional.

Invigorated by the makerspace and hacker trends? Eager to practice preservation techniques that you've read about but never seen demonstrated? "Getting our Hands Dirty: DIY Solutions for Archival Challenges" will feature presentations by conservation and archival experts on topics that include humidification, audiocassette repair, mat board measuring and cutting, lesson plan creation, automation for finding aid edits, textile storage, and much more! Leaders will demonstrate each tool and session participants will get hands-on experience. Participants are encouraged to bring their own laptops and ideas for how to implement techniques at their own institution. Practice materials will be provided and light refreshments will be offered during breaks.
