As you know, the Local History & Genealogy division of the Columbus Metropolitan Library is moving to a temporary location while Main Library is closed for renovations. See below for updates about our opening day, open house and upcoming programming.

Local History & Genealogy Services Open in Whitehall Starting April 20th

Local History & Genealogy services will reopen April 20 at a temporary location in the former Whitehall Branch at 4371 E. Broad St. opens to the public.

Most of the collection will be available including:

  *   All Columbus history items.
  *   Genealogy: all Ohio items and most states east of the Mississippi River. Select other materials.
  *   Microfilm: Columbus genealogy records, the Columbus Dispatch, other Columbus newspapers and select other Ohio newspapers.
  *   Access to Ancestry.com and all other electronic resources.

Welcome Event: Save the Date

Join us Thursday, April 30 from 4-6 p.m. at the new location on 4371 E. Broad St. for a special welcome event. Staff will be on hand to provide tours of the collection, discuss the digitization lab and digitize your photos. Don't forget to bring your own photos for scanning!
