Reference Archivist II

Provides efficient and friendly reference services to researchers who use the collections of the Archives/Library in
person, as well as via phone, email and written contact.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

*         Provides specialized customer services to Archives/Library patrons onsite and offsite via phone, email and

*         written contacts. Provides specialized reference services as part of complex research projects.

*         Participates in Archives/Library collections maintenance projects including inventory, shelf reading and

*         collection tracking.

*         Participates in public presentations/tours promoting Archives/Library collections and services.

*         Participates in Ohio History Connection committees.

*         Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The
requirements listed in this posting are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable

Education and Experience:
Master's degree in American history, Library Science or related discipline or equivalent work experience plus four
to ten years direct work experience in a library or archives.

Technical Skills:
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and in-depth knowledge of on-line database and internet search
protocols.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to work independently, follow complex instructions, manage time effectively and exercise good judgement.

Work Environment:
Majority of the work is performed in a library environment; some takes place in library stack and storage areas
with overhead lighting, and industrial HVAC air circulation system.
