[SOA] Statehood Day

Just a reminder that the Advocacy & Outreach Committee would like to encourage everyone to register<https://connect.ohiohistory.org/events/statehood-day> for the upcoming Ohio Statehood Day on March 4, 2015.

One of the legislative priorities this year will be the CARMA (County Archivists and Records Managers Association) Legislative Committee's work on lifting access restrictions on records with permanent retention after 100 years.  This is great news and it would be wonderful to have a large number of advocates for this issue in attendance this year!

Also, if you plan on attending, be sure to make an appointment with your local legislator in order to advocate the importance of Ohio history.  If you're not sure who your local legislators are, visit the Ohio History Advocacy Center<http://cqrcengage.com/ohiohistory/home> and enter your zip code.  You will be provided with a list of your Federal and State legislators along with biographical and contact information.  It's that easy!
