Wright State University
WSU seeks applications for a full-time Archivist to provide access to historical documents and information by organizing, describing, preserving, and providing reference to manuscript collections, local government records, and university records. Participate in departmental outreach activities such as tours, exhibits, and presentations. Required: M.A. Public History, History, or A.L.A. accredited M.L.S./M.L.I.S.; graduate level education, training and experience in current archival theory and practice, specifically the processing and preservation of manuscript collections and two years of archival experience (graduate student experience accepted); experience in researching and providing reference service in manuscripts and local government records collections; experience using MPLP (More Product Less Process), DACS (Describing Archives: A Content Standard), and EAD (Encoded Archival Description); demonstrated knowledge of archival management systems. Preferred: knowledge of basic office software and database use; ability to work independently and collaboratively; excellent oral and written communication skills; interest and/or classroom study in aviation history and local and regional history; experience in public speaking and classroom instruction.
