The Archives Month in Ohio sub-committee needs your help in selecting a
theme and developing a poster for 2015 (and even beyond). Are you willing?
Here’s the deal: we have talked of two possibilities for a theme. The first
revolves around a “local/global” combination; the second, on “lost
heritage”. With “local/global” we can feature people, events and places
that are in Ohio or have a direct connection to Ohio and also have had an
immediate impact or a general importance nationally or globally. With “lost
heritage” we can feature materials that were threatened with loss but have
been preserved through re-formatting. What is your choice?
We also need images that will convey the theme chosen. Here’s your chance
to submit items that may be selected for this year—or possibly a year or
two from now. What do you have—photos, documents, graphic items--to
illustrate the following?:
· Items saved for posterity
· Government and politics
· STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics)
· Literary, performing, and graphic arts
· Business, commerce and industry
· Health and medical arts
· Military affairs
· More specifically, the First World War
· Athletics and entertainment
Our deadline for submissions is Friday, April 10. But it will be a couple
of days before we can tell you where to send them, so stand by for further
information on that. When we give the go-ahead, however, we look forward to
hearing from you. Thanks.
