NCH Releases Comments to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services regarding proposed Rulemaking on Federal Policy for the Protection of Human Subjects
The U.S. Department of HHS recently proposed revisions to the regulations for protection of human subjects in research.  On October 30, the NCH submitted comments to the HHS on the proposed rule.  The comments focused on the treatment of oral history under the rule and strongly endorsed the recommendation to exclude oral history from the "Common Rule."  Fifteen NCH member organizations also endorsed the comments and were listed as individual signatories.

National Archives Changes Research Room Hours at Facilities Nationwide
Starting November 1, 2015 research room hours will change in many of NARA's facilities.  The result will be that all National Archives field locations are open on the same days.

National Archives Renews Digitization Partnerships with FamilySearch and Ancestry.com
