Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the Head of Archival Services, processes (arranges and describes) and preserves archival collections; answers reference inquires by phone, E-mail, and in person; digitizes and creates metadata for archival materials; uploads digital materials to online repository; and other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications:


A relevant Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 6 months data entry experience. Familiarity with library protocols and procedures and strong customer service skills are a must. Computer skills including word processing database, spreadsheets and presentation software required.


Preferred Qualifications:


B.A. or M.A. in History or related discipline or an ALA accredited M.L.S./M.L.I.S.; demonstrated knowledge of archival principles and practices; experience in archival processing, preservation, and reference work; ability to work in a team environment; proficiency with scanning equipment and software; experience digitizing and creating metadata for archival materials; experience with digital asset management systems such as CONTENTdm; ability to stand/walk on rough surfaces for long periods, bend and/or stoop, and lift heavy items up to 50 lbs.


Salary:


$13.31 hourly
