Reference Archivist II

Immediate opening for an energetic and outgoing Reference Archivist.  Responsible for providing great customer service to our Archives/Library patrons through in-person interactions, telephone and written communications.  Individual should have a passion for educating and assisting others while sharing information about the Ohio History Connection's marvelous collections.  Additional responsibilities include creating and presenting workshops and webinars to genealogists, students, historians, professional organizations, and other interested people.  Some travel may be required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

*         Provides specialized customer services to Archives/Library patrons onsite and offsite via phone, email and written contacts. Provides specialized reference services as part of complex research projects.

*         Participates in Archives/Library collections maintenance projects including inventory, shelf reading and collection tracking.

*         Participates in public presentations/tours promoting Archives/Library collections and services.

*         Participates in Ohio History Connection committees.

*         Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
Master's degree in American history, Library Science or related discipline or equivalent work experience. May require travel outside the city of Columbus.

Minimum
4 years direct work experience in a library or archives

$38,600-$42,700
