Here is a message from Todd Kleismit of the Ohio History Connection that 
invites supporters of history in the Buckeye to be in touch with our 
legislators regarding support for the OHC (including the state archives 
for instance). Keep in mind you may become the best educator on things 
historical your legislator may have! So don't be shy and bashful, be in 
touch.

of Representatives and will likely move to the Ohio Senate next month. 
We know you are passionate about Ohio history, so we have made it 
convenient for you to express your support of the Ohio History 
Connection state budget to your state representative and state senator.

Tell the Ohio General Assembly to support Ohio History

Ohio History Connection carries out Ohio’s state history 
responsibilities in exchange for state support. For about $1 per 
resident, the Ohio History Connection:

  * Works with local partners to maintain and provide public access to
    more than 50 historic sites and museums across Ohio
  * Maintains the State Archives where the state’s founding documents,
    public records and genealogical resources are kept
  * Works with communities and developers to ensure the preservation of
    historic buildings through the State Historic Preservation Office
  * Supports the important works of social studies teachers and local
    historical societies statewide
  * Creates experiences for Ohio families and tourists by maintaining
    historical artifacts and other museum objects at the Ohio History
