Subject: Archives Leadership Institute
The Archives Leadership Institute is currently accepting applications for its week-long program hosted by Purdue University June 9-15, 2019.
Funded by the National Historical Publications and Records Commission (NHPRC), the Institute offers advanced training for 20 emerging leaders in the profession, providing knowledge, tools, and a community of practice to affect positive change.
The Institute curriculum encompasses:
* Leadership skills for archivists;
* Intercultural competencies to engage in meaningful dialogues around diversifying the archives profession and the archival record;
* Technology skills and strategies for sustaining a technologically proficient workforce in a climate of rapid change;
* Advocacy to educate the public and policy makers about the necessity of archives, as well as strategic communication skills to argue persuasively for resources.
Members of underrepresented communities, diversity advocates, and individuals working in a wide variety of institutional settings are strongly encouraged to apply.
