2018 CONTENTdm USERS GROUP MEETING: Call for Proposals
Join us on Wednesday and Thursday, August 1-2, 2018, in Columbus, Ohio, for #CDMUG18, the annual CONTENTdm Users Group meeting at the dazzling Columbus Metropolitan Library<https://www.columbuslibrary.org/locations/Main%20Library>.
Keynote: Karen Estlund<https://karenestlund.com/>, associate dean for Technology and Digital Strategies, Penn State University Libraries, will speak on digital library service innovations.

The 2018 Program Committee<https://sites.google.com/view/cdmug2018/about> is now accepting abstracts for sessions and posters, centered around the general theme “Innovation in Services for Digital Libraries.”
Technologists, librarians, archivists, and others interested in sharing their knowledge are invited to participate in presentations and workshops covering a broad spectrum of digital library topics.
Topics of current interest are, but are not limited to:
* Metadata and linked entities
* Diversity and inclusion within metadata practice
* Making digital collections accessible
* Consortial and group use of CONTENTdm
* Sharing metadata with WorldCat, DPLA, and/or other aggregators
* Implementation of Rightsstatements.org in digital projects
* Migrating from local servers to the OCLC Hosting Service
* Customized responsive collection sites
* Advanced image viewing; IIIF API support
* Manuscript transcription
Proposal requirements
* Session title and intended format
* 250-word abstract describing the session/poster and how it will be of interest to attendees
* Main contact’s information, as well as any other participants
* Special A/V or technology requirements (all rooms are equipped with projectors/screens, speakers, AirMedia, and WiFi)
* Any additional special needs
Session Formats
* Lightning - Presentations may be from 3 to 7 minutes long, with the time allotted depending on the number of presenters. May or may not include slides.
* Mini-Workshop - session teaching a skill or concept through hands-on activity.
* Panel Session - Two to four speakers present on a common theme.
* Paper - Single speaker.
* Pecha Kucha - Each presentation consists of 20 slides or images displayed for 20 seconds each, with comment, for a total of 6 minutes and 40 seconds.
* Poster Presentation - Individual or group report in which information is summarized using brief written statements and graphic materials, such as photographs, charts, graphs, and/or diagrams mounted on poster board. Presenters will be assigned a specific time at which they must be with their poster to discuss it with attendees.
* World Café - Multiple presentations/conversations going on at separate tables, with attendees given the opportunity to rotate between them at predetermined intervals (e.g. 15 minutes).
* Other - Other session formats that encourage interaction between presenters and attendees.
Evaluation
Proposals will be evaluated on merit, clarity, diversity of content and speaker representation, and completeness of proposal and presenters. Abstracts will be reviewed on a rolling basis, but submission closes on May 15, 2018. You will be notified of acceptance within two weeks of receipt of your proposal.
All sessions will have an assigned member of the Program Committee to provide introductions, and, as needed, to moderate.
