Last call for any updates or additions to the Ohio Archives Passport for
the 2019-2020 update, which will be available online in October! Thank you
to everyone who has already submitted!
In 2017 SOA began compiling information about Ohio archival repositories to
put together a statewide "passport" broken down by region. Last year we
collected updates and new entries and the 2018 passport included
information for more than 80 sites across the state!
The ultimate goal is to have an up-to-date resource for researchers and
fellow archivists that can provide information about available resources,
promote, and raise awareness about Ohio archives in general. I am sharing
the link to the current 2018-2019 Ohio Archives Passport for people to
review their information from last year, submit edits and changes, and
submit NEW previously unlisted information on repositories as needed:
http://www.ohioarchivists.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/SOAOhioArchivesPassport2018.pdf
If you know of any repositories around you that should be included and that
might not be reached through the listserv or via member email, please
consider reaching out to them directly to encourage them to submit. There
may be small all-volunteer or limited hour local archives and/or research
library that would like people to know that they exist; they would benefit
from being included!
We'd like to publish the 2019-2020 update on the SOA website by October for
Archives Month, so it would be great to be able to list any planned
Archives Month events as well. If you have events like lectures, open
houses, a local archives crawl, tours, etc. planned for October, please
share that information so it can be included! If you haven't planned
anything yet, please think about doing something during the month of
October to promote your archive.
The link to the passport can be shared freely to help promote and raise
awareness and can be easily printed for those wishing to encourage
researchers to participate in an archives "crawl" by visiting multiple
sites.
If you need to make changes to your current listing or if you are NOT
currently listed and want to be included in the update, please email all
necessary information to nataliemfritz3 at gmail.com by August 31.
Repositories should submit:
