2019 Annual Meeting: Invention and Innovation
The Friday Conference will be held at the Hilton Akron/Fairlawn Hotel<http://www.akronhilton.com/>, 3180 W. Market St, Akron.
Thursday Preconference Workshops will be held at the Kent State University Library<https://www.library.kent.edu/>, 1125 Risman Dr, Kent.
Preregistration-through May 10:
- Annual meeting registration: $50 SOA members; $70 nonmembers; $35 students.
- Workshop registration: members $40 for 1/$60 for both; nonmembers $45 for 1/$65 for both; students $35 for 1/$55 for both.
Onsite meeting registration:
- $60 SOA members; $80 nonmembers; $40 students.
- No onsite Workshop registration. Due to catering restrictions, we cannot guarantee lunch for onsite registrants.

Plenary Speaker: Kathleen D. Roe
[Kathleen Roe portrait]<http://www.ohioarchivists.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/roe-kathleen-headshot.jpg>Kathleen Roe's talk, "Reimagining the Future of the Archival Past," will focus on the future of archival work, including ensuring our institutions collect materials that reflect a comprehensive, inclusive past, conveying the value of archives in meaningful ways to a wide range of users and audiences, and stepping forward to strengthen our profession and its role in our communities and society. Roe is a Fellow and past-president of the Society of American Archivists, and is author of a forthcoming SAA Fundamentals manual on advocacy and awareness for archivists.
