[SOA] Further Extension of Deadline to Submit Images for October Archives Month poster - Now Friday, June 5, 2020

With all libraries, archives, and museums closed in compliance with the
Governor's orders to help stop the spread of COVID-19, the deadline for
submitting images for this year's Ohio Archives Month poster will be
extended (again) to *Friday, June 5, 2020.*

We realize that due to the "Shelter in Place" order, many are working from
home or may not be working at all at this time, so we understand that
normal access to archival collections may be limited. If you are aware of
archival materials in your collections that are related to the 2020 theme
of the centennial commemoration of the ratification of the 19th Amendment
and local efforts connected to the suffrage movement, but know you have
limited ability to access those materials to submit images, please let us
know.

This year's theme for the annual Society of Ohio Archivists’ October
Archives Month poster is the centennial commemoration of the ratification
of the 19th Amendment, which guaranteed and protected women’s
constitutional right to vote.  We invite you to submit photographs,
documents, or other graphical materials from your institution to be
featured on the poster that connect the stories of local women and
supportive men who fought for the right to vote, and continued the fight
for ALL women after the passage of the amendment. This is your chance to
highlight interesting and thought-provoking items from your collections
connected to the Suffrage Centennial.

If interested in participating, please submit your images to Melissa Dalton
at mdalton at co.greene.oh.us by Friday, June 5, 2020. Institutions can submit
a maximum of 3 images. Please ensure that the image quality is a minimum of
300 dpi, higher quality is encouraged. With your submission, please include
a description of the image that explains its importance AND a brief one
sentence caption that can be used on the poster if the image is selected.

SOA members will have the opportunity to vote on their favorite in June.
Entrants do not need to be members to submit images.
