[SOA] Martin Hauserman has made a career as the keeper of Cleveland’s history, documenting city government and life of the people

CLEVELAND, Ohio – For 35 years, Martin Hauserman painstakingly maintained the official archive of Cleveland City Council’s actions and presided over a treasure trove of Cleveland history.

Along the way, he accumulated thousands of records -- minutes of government meetings from Cleveland’s inception, detailed blueprints of many of Cleveland’s most historic buildings and photos detailing life in Cleveland over the years.

On Friday, Hauserman said goodbye, retiring at age 72 after 35 years as the only chief city archivist the council ever had.....
