Dear Colleagues,



We know everyone has been occupied with the changing landscapes of their
work and lives. The 2020 OPAL-PALNI Conference is changing too! The date is
the same,* Aug 7th*, but instead of meeting in person we will be listening
to speakers, giving & watching presentations, and having discussions
online. Please see the conference website

In order to give everyone more time to complete their breakout presentation
ideas, and consider participating in the virtual event, the deadline for
conference breakout presentation proposals has been extended to *June 1st.* You
do not have to be a member of OPAL or PALNI to participate. Please be
assured that the conference organizers will be reaching out to all
presenters to offer any assistance that will help presentations be as
successful as possible. See the Call for Proposals conference webpage

and to submit your idea.


There is also a new opportunity that will take the place of traditional
poster presentations: Blitz Presentations! These are quick, 5-8 minute
pre-recorded presentations that will be made available for viewing before
and during the conference. The conference presentation component will be a
Q&A session for blitz presenters to dialog with conference attendees. The
deadline for blitz presentation proposals is also *June 1st*.  Don't worry
about what final shape your presentation will take - your proposal lets the
conference planners know what your idea is and acts as a placeholder for
the presentation that you will create. See the Call for Blitz Proposals
