ICA-Art Conservation has served the stewards of collections in museums, libraries, archives, historic homes, and living history facilities for 69 years. As the first, and oldest, non-for-profit art conservation center in North America, it is our mission to see that all works of material culture are provided with the necessary care and treatment.

In this lively and accessible presentation three ICA conservators will share information and resources on caring for cultural heritage collections during the COVID-19 pandemic. Painting conservator Wendy Partridge, textile conservator, Jane Hammond, and object conservator Claire Curran will discuss the dos and definitely-do-nots of collection decontamination, provide the most up-to-date professional guidelines and practical information from national collecting and preservation organizations about disinfecting museum spaces and establishing cleaning protocols, and they will address reopening issues as they relate to collections care in this time of social distancing.

Attendees will learn the answers to the most frequently asked questions, and there will be plenty of time to ask your own questions. A hand-out of resources will be provided. Because of the changing nature of the information provided this webinar will not be recorded but will be offered again as needed over the coming months.
