The ACRL/RBMS Guidelines Regarding Security and Theft in Special Collections
<https://www.ala.org/acrl/standards/security_theft> are in the process of
being revised. These guidelines are used by special collections and
archival repositories across the United States and currently encourage
punitive action to safe-guard collections, spaces, & staff.

Please consider reading the Abolition in Special Collections's statement to
the Rare Books and Manuscripts Section (RBMS) Executive Committee and sign
to support a revision that will make special collections reading rooms into
safer spaces for all: https://bit.ly/AbSCstatementtoRBMS
