Join MAC for a Virtual Fall Symposium!


Local Collections in the Digital Age

November 4-5, 2021

Virtually hosted by Kansas City


Even though we won’t be meeting locally, this year’s Fall Symposium is all about local.


As archivists seek to make the local history collections we build more diverse, inclusive, responsive and relevant, our approaches and methods have changed, and more often than not, those methods are digital. In addition, with many archives changing their approach to collection access out of necessity during the pandemic, our digital collections have become more important than ever.  Join speakers from public libraries, academic libraries, media, government, and community organizations to explore tools and strategies for both collecting and sharing local history and collections.


Those missing a taste of Kansas City will be able to enjoy virtual tours, exhibits, and shopping.


The symposium is offered at a cost of $45 for MAC members, $55 for non-MAC members, and $10 for students. To help foster the more intimate atmosphere of past in-person fall symposia, attendance is limited to 75.
