The Kent State University Libraries invite applicants for the position of University Archivist. We are looking for a dynamic, committed librarian/archivist to manage university history collections administered by Special Collections & Archives. This full-time, non-tenure track faculty librarian will fulfill operational, instruction, collection development, and outreach responsibilities related to historical university archives and records.


Minimum salary: $55,000


Minimum Qualifications:

  *   MLS, MLIS, or MS from an ALA-accredited program of library and/or information science.
  *   Two years of prior professional work experience in special collections/archives in an academic library or similar setting.
  *   Familiarity with archival theory, practice, and standards.
  *   Experience providing reference services in a special collections/archives setting.
  *   Experience with processing archival collections and creating finding aids.
  *   Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  *   Demonstrated commitment to completion of detailed operational responsibilities on a daily basis.
