Join Genna Duplisea, MA, MLIS, a founding member of Archivists Responding
to Climate Change (Project ARCC), on August 7th at 5 pm as she discusses
the impact of climate change on archives and museums. Climate change not
only affects the work of documenting human experience but also physically
threatens cultural heritage collections through extreme weather events.
Additionally, the work in archives and museums has a carbon footprint,
contributing to climate change. In this webinar, Genna will provide an
overview of the challenges of memory work in uncertain times and the
efforts made by archivists and other professionals to continue preserving
collections through climate chaos. You'll gain valuable insights into
strategies and best practices for mitigating the impact of climate change
on archives and museums, ensuring that cultural heritage remains safe and
accessible for future generations.

Archives, libraries, and museums are all custodians of our cultural
heritage, but their roles, practices, and vocabularies can vary widely. How
can we better understand the similarities and differences among these
professions and build bridges across them? Join us for this insightful
webinar on The Umbrella of Special Collections/Cultural Heritage.
Our speaker, Genna Duplisea, MA, MLIS, will explore the different roles for
collections management across different types of repositories and discuss
the differences in vocabulary and practice among practitioners of different
fields of cultural heritage. You'll learn how to navigate each field's
unique challenges and opportunities and develop a more comprehensive
understanding of the cultural heritage landscape.
We can create a more cohesive and effective cultural heritage community by
fostering better communication and understanding among these professions.
