[SOA] Job Posting: Two-year Term Position at CWRU in Cleveland

Case Western Reserve University seeks a forward thinking, inclusive, and
collaborative individual for the Project Archivist Librarian 2/ two-year
term position.

POSITION DESCRIPTION The Project Archivist will work with other archivists,
librarians and support staff in the service-driven University Archives and
Special Collections team to support university research and instruction,
and library collections, services, and programs. The position of project
archivist will support services nurturing library partnerships with
faculty, students, non-academic staff, outside scholars, genealogists,
other libraries and archival agencies, and other external users. Working
with the university archives and special collections team, the project
archivist, based in the University Archives, will be primarily responsible
for appraising, arranging, and describing high priority university
records.  Additional tasks will include participating in outreach efforts,
providing research and reference assistance, and digitizing archival
material. This is a two-year term position supporting the operations of
Kelvin Smith Library’s archival unit during a major archival processing
project and the implementation of ArchivesSpace.

The Kelvin Smith Library is the knowledge and creativity commons of Case
Western Reserve University and part of a library system with over three
million titles in print and digital formats. KSL is home to the University
Archives and Special Collections and manuscripts consisting of over 17,000
linear feet, the Kulas Music Collection, and the Freedman Center for
Digital Scholarship which advances research by partnering with scholars and
students to explore and develop new forms of scholarship. KSL is a member
of the Association of Research Libraries (ARL), OhioLINK, the Coalition for
Networked Information (CNI), HathiTrust, and the Center for Research
Libraries. In 2019 KSL was the recipient of the ACRL Excellence in Academic
Libraries Award. KSL affiliate libraries include the Cleveland Institute of
Art Library, the Cleveland Institute of Music Robinson Music Library, the
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Library, and a cooperative relationship with the
Western Reserve Historical Society Research Library.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Master's degree in a relevant discipline is required. Formal
training in archival theory and practice OR demonstrated understanding of
current archival theory and practice.
Experience: 1 to 3 years of experience. Some experience processing
moderately complex record series.

SALARY This position is a L2 with a minimum of $57,200. The salary will be
offered to commensurate with qualifications and experience.
