Robin Heise served as SOA President from 2017-2019.  We are grateful for Robin's service, leadership, and advocacy, not only in SOA, but also in the archives and records management fields at the local, state, and national levels.  SOA Leadership is determining how we can best honor Robin Heise.

I am sorry to share some very sad news. Please see the follow statement:

A letter from the Director
We are saddened and heartbroken to learn of the unexpected death of former Director and SOA President Robin Heise. Robin was an instrumental part of growing the archives into what it is today, one of the best programs in the state. She worked at Greene County for 14 years, beginning as an intern in 2011 and worked her way up to director when Gillian Hill retired in 2015. I personally have known Robin for just as long, as the records and archive circle in the state is small, but mighty. I was fortunate to work with her on several different initiatives over the years through our time together in CARMA, MVAR and NAGARA. It was an incredible honor to work with her and Pari Swift in 2018 when she chaired the CARMA committee that would change the law for opening previously closed permanent records after 75 years. Her influence will leave an effect on those around her and in the archival community for years to come. We extend our condolences to Robin's family, especially her husband Mark and daughter Morgan. We will share information about arrangements once they are announced.
Check on our people and hold your loved ones close. Life is too short to not do that.
