[SOA] Seeking Applicants for ALAO's Diversity Scholarship Award!

For interested applicants, please use the link provided below to apply for
the Diversity Scholarship Award. For anyone else, please feel free to share
information about this scholarship far and wide (keeping in mind that the
applicants must currently live in Ohio).
*Diversity Scholarship Award Application 2025*
ALAO values diversity in its membership, in the profession, and in future
library professionals. And for that reason, we are pleased to offer a
$1,500 scholarship to a promising student enrolled in an ALA-accredited MLS
program who exemplifies the qualities needed to ensure a diverse library
workforce.
*Who Can Apply?*Students who currently live in the state of Ohio who are
enrolled in, OR, recently accepted to an ALA-accredited MLS program are
eligible to apply. The goal of our scholarship is to help diversify the
field of librarianship, and so we look for applicants with diverse
identities, including, but not limited to: race/ethnicity, dis/ability,
sexual orientation, class, etc.
*Timeline*
*Applications will be accepted from January 1st to March 31st. Winners of
the scholarship award will be notified by the end of April. Application

The application consists of four sections:
1. Personal Information.
2. School Information
3. Demographic Information
4. Essay Question

*Miami University is located within the traditional homelands of the
Myaamia and Shawnee people, who along with other indigenous groups ceded
these lands to the United States in the first Treaty of Greenville in 1795.
The Miami people, whose name our university carries, were forcibly removed
from these homelands in 1846.*
