Hello SOA-
The OPC Quarterly meetings are open to non-members, and you can drop in just for the program if it's of interest. Our March meeting will be virtual, and the focus of the program will be on academic writing, which starts at 11AM. All are welcome 🙂
"Join us for a discussion on academic writing where we will examine publishing outlets, barriers, and other processes integral to professional publishing. We expect an engaging discussion designed to help you jump start that new writing project."

11AM to noon- Program:
As Preservation professionals, we are encouraged to document and disseminate our experiences to the wider preservation community through various different means, including publishing. But where to start? Join us for a discussion on academic writing where we will examine publishing outlets, barriers, and other processes integral to professional publishing. We expect an engaging discussion designed to help you jump start that new writing project.
Before the discussion, we will hear from Tim Lanza (A/V Preservation and Digitization Lead. The Ohio State University Libraries), who attended the Association of Moving Image Archivists conference through a small grant from OPC as an example of how sharing our work helps to grow and strengthen both our own personal practice and our community.
Reminder, we have professional development grants available for up to $500- More information available on the OPC website<https://ohiopreservationcouncil.org/grants>.
Lastly, save the dave for the 2025 Ohio Preservation Council symposium on August 1st, 2025 at Columbus Metro Library. More information including registration will be coming in March!
