[SOA] Call for Speakers

The Ohio Preservation Council is planning our final quarterly meeting for 2025, which will take place in November.  We are putting together a program featuring strange, odd, unique and/or interesting objects and their treatments.  We are looking for projects that are out of the ordinary and required unconventional methods to complete.  Some examples of this include, but are not limited to• Unique or rarely used treatments• Elaborate and/or complex enclosures• Unconventional materials, either object or treatment• An interesting example of community engagement• Collaborations with other professionals, either cross departmental or with other institutions• Creative solutions to resource constraints• Unexpected/Unintended outcomes or lessons learned
We welcome proposals from across the conservation and preservation world, be it libraries, museums, archives, academic, public or private practice.  Presentations will be delivered virtually and will be brief (10-12 minutes).  The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, November 13th, from 10am-12pm. Presentations will begin at 11.The deadline for submissions is Friday, October 10thPlease reach out to Amber Bales (bales.94 at osu.edu) and/or Eric Harrelson (harrele at miamioh.edu) if you are interested!
