Dear colleagues,

I am writing to share a paid summer internship opportunity at the Western Reserve Historical Society working on the Louis Stokes Congressional Papers. I would be grateful if you could share this opportunity with students who may be interested in gaining hands-on archival processing experience.

This internship is particularly well suited for MLIS students, students considering archival or public history careers, and those with interests in Black studies, U.S. political history, or urban development.

The intern will work directly on the processing of Congressman Louis Stokes’ papers, a major congressional collection documenting civil rights advocacy, urban policy, and federal legislative activity spanning three decades. Responsibilities will include archival arrangement, description, rehousing, and contributing to the intellectual organization of the collection.

Start and end dates are flexible.
Priority review deadline: April 24.
