[SOA] Virtual SAA Annual Meeting Poster Presentation – Alana Evans

Hello,

I would like to share an upcoming conference presentation with the Ohio
archival community.


I will be presenting a *virtual* poster titled *“Humanizing the Archive:
Transcription and Access to Historical Manuscripts”* at the Society of
American Archivists (SAA) Annual Meeting.


My research explores how archival transcription improves access to
historical manuscripts while balancing readability and historical
authenticity. Drawing on my internship with Historic Hudson Valley, the
project examines transcription as both a technical skill and an
interpretive process, highlighting the role archivists play in making
historical records accessible while preserving their historical context.
