The State Library of Ohio is pleased to announce the availability of Library
Services and Technology Act (LSTA) funds for Automation. The
Automation grant program will allow libraries which are not yet automated or
underautomated to retrospectively convert their collection and to join or
link their records to an automated library consortium. Automation projects
must demonstrate an intent to contribute to statewide resource sharing.
Proposals are due at the State Library by 4:00 p.m. March 24, 2004.
Approved proposals will run from October 1, 2004 through September 30, 2005.

All types of libraries (public, school, academic, special) may apply for
funding. Under the automation grant program any amount of federal funds may
be requested. A local cash match is required; the local match must be 25% of
the total project amount.

The LSTA Automation Grant Request for Proposal includes criteria and
eligibility requirements, grant guidelines, and deadlines. The Request
for Proposal as well as other documents designed to assist applicants can be
found on the State Library web page, WINSLO, at

information will be posted the week of December 15.
