The Clark County Public Library is honored to bring to the Springfield
area, authors, artists, and other lecturers of local, national, and
international renown.
Our next speaker is Homer Hickam, a former NASA aerospace engineer and
the author of "Rocket Boys" which was re-released as the film "October
Sky". He will present a program in the Clark State Performing Arts
Center Kuss Auditorium on Tuesday, October 14, 2003 at 7:00 PM.
A reception will be held at the Main Library, 201 S Fountain Ave,
following the program. Mr. Hickam will be present to sign books.
Refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the Library.
The Main Library is just across the street from the Clark State
Performing Arts Center Kuss Auditorium.

Mr. Cash, an Ohio author and historian, will be presenting a program on
the wives of Ohio Presidents. There is no charge to attend but
registration is required and can be made by calling the Main Library
Reference Desk at (937) 328-6903.
Arnold and Jaime Adoff

Arnold Adoff is a poet and anthologist who has published more than
thirty books for young people such as "Slow Dance Heartbreak Blues" and
"Street Music". His son Jaime is a professional musician and has
published his first poetry book "The Song Shoots Out of My Mouth: A
Celebration of Music". There is no charge to attend and no registration

Scott Turow

Scott Turow is an author and an attorney. He has written books in the
legal thriller genre such as "Presumed Innocent" and "Pleading Guilty".

Paul Gaus

A Professor of Chemistry at the College of Wooster, Paul Gaus is from
Delaware, Ohio. He is the author of several Ohio Amish mysteries such as
"Broken English" and "Blood of the Prodigal". Tickets will be $5.00.
Craig Holden

Craig Holden grew up in Toledo, Ohio and is the author of several books
including "The River of Sorrow", "The Last Sanctuary" and "Jazzbird".
Craig will be talking about "Jazzbird" and about Cincinnati, Ohio where
the story was set. Registration is required.
Alice Walker

Alice Walker is one of the most respected writers in the United States.
She is the first African American woman to win a Pulitzer Prize for
fiction. She has written "In Her Hands" and "The Color Purple". Tickets
will be $10.00.
