*Let's Explore Ohio*

This workshop will provide an introduction to books and other resources 
that are currently available for teachers' and librarians' use. Worksop 
participants will gain familiarity with a variety of books, program 
ideas, and activities to provide children with a broad knowledge of 
Ohio's history. There will be an emphasis on the early cultural groups 
in Ohio, slavery and the undergound railroad, as well as Ohio's authors, 
illustrators, and resources.

Participants will receive a bibliography, selected publications from a 
variety of Ohio governmental agencies and will be eligible to win door 
prizes.

*Speaker:*
Floyd Dickman was a member of ALA's 2002 Caldecott Selection Award 
Committee and has served as Library Development Consultant at the State 
Library of Ohio. He was honored as Librarian of the Year by the Ohio 
Library Council and has contributed to development of librarianship in 
Children's Services, Children's Literature, Family Literacy and 
Continuing Education. Floyd was also the Coordinator of the Ohio Center 
for the Book.
