Position Posting:
Circulation Team Leader

Join the Washington-Centerville Public Library as part of the Public =
Services team: help lead a team of dedicated, educated employees who are =

Responsibilities of the Position:
Patron assistance, including advanced research, for all ages
Staff leadership & development: employee development, oversight, task =
assignment, feedback, and performance evaluations
Visionary program administration and alignment with library mission: =
planning, procurement, execution, and evaluation
Annual planning to meet WCPL goals and assure quality services; monthly =
progress and service reports
Collaborative work with other Team Leaders=20
Representation of Circulation's work to other Departments and Management
Clear communication of departmental objectives and plans, horizontally and =
vertically=20
Marketing, project management, and fiscal management duties
Must provide personal transportation required for external service =
obligations and requirements between library facilities.
Other tasks/projects as assigned

Qualifications of the Ideal Candidate:
Minimum of Bachelor's degree plus work experience
Minimum of 4 years experience in customer service
Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience with directly reporting staff
Proficient in MS Office software
Ability to communicate clearly, effectively and diplomatically
Demonstrated ability to lead; creative thinker and problem solver
Proficient in the skills required for success (see Responsibilities, =
above)
Ability to meet schedule requirements, including some nights and weekends
Collaborative style: able to achieve consensus and maintain a sense of =
humor

Reporting, Pay Range and Benefits:
The position reports to the Operations Manager and coordinates laterally =
with the Circulation and Materials Handling Team Leaders at the sister =
site.  The pay range for the position is $1,182 - $1,560 bi-weekly plus a =
22.05% net pay increase through an employer-paid contribution to the =
Public Employees Retirement System.  An excellent benefit package is also =
provided.

Position Posting:
Substitute Reference Librarian

Responsibilities of the Position:
Provide reference assistance to patrons, including research assistance, in =
depth searching, and specialized reader's advisory service to adults, =
children, teachers and special groups.=20
Assist in assessing information and program needs of patrons, target =
groups, and library staff.=20
Actively promote library service, programs and materials to public and =
staff through both formal and informal means.
Help develop annual plans and activities.
Prepare special reports as requested. =20

Qualities of the Ideal Candidate:
MLS from an ALA accredited institution, or at least 9 credit hours of =
course work toward an MLS degree. =20
Previous professional library reference experience.
Superior working knowledge of traditional and electronic resources =
including database searching and the Internet.
Previous programming experience, collection development and training =
experience a plus.
Strong service orientation.
Presentation skills and the ability to communicate effectively both =
verbally and in writing
Collaborative work style, self motivated.
Has the ability to meet scheduling needs.

Reporting, Pay Range and Benefits:
The position reports to the Reference Team Leader.  This position allows =
for flexible hours each week and a requirement of 40 hours per quarter.  =
The pay range for the position is $14.77 - $18.53 per hour.  An excellent =
supplemental benefit package is also provided.
