NOLA REGIONAL LIBRARY SYSTEM WELCOMES KNOWITNOW 24x7 AFTERDARK PROJECT
COORDINATOR

Warren, Ohio-August 2, 2004, 2:00 p.m. - The NOLA Regional Library
System would like to introduce their newest coordinator, Kristen J.
Pool.  Kristen holds her Master of Library Science from Kent State
University and her Master of Arts in English from Ohio University.  For
the past six years, she has worked as Archivist/Local History Librarian
at Shaker Heights Public Library.

Kristen has experience with online reference as she was Shaker's online
reference team leader and trainer for CLEVNET's KnowItNow service since
its inception in 2001.  She scheduled and supervised the eight
librarians who work Shaker's two weekly shifts.  She has several years
experience in working regular online reference.=20

The KnowItNow 24X7 service, beginning in September, allows every
resident in the state of Ohio the ability to get answers to questions
through a 24/7 virtual reference service available from home, work,
school, or a library. Thanks to a grant from the Federal Institute of
Museum and Library Services (IMLS) awarded by the State Library of Ohio,
a 24/7 virtual reference service will be launched for residents
throughout the state of Ohio through the three partners in the project:
Cleveland Public Library, NOLA Regional Library System, and Cuyahoga
County Public Library. These partners were selected because of their
expertise in managing virtual reference services serving Ohio's
libraries and citizens. Librarians around the state will staff the
service during regular library hours and the NOLA Regional Library
System will coordinate staffing the service with librarians during the
night when libraries are closed.=20

The NOLA Regional Library System is a multitype library agency that
coordinates and facilitates the development of services of its member
libraries for all of their constituents. NOLA is a membership-driven
organization that seeks to strengthen library services and to promote
the continued improvement of libraries in Ohio.=20
