  POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
Adult Services Assistant
Kaubisch Memorial Public Library
Fostoria, Ohio

Located in a rural community an hour south of Toledo, the Kaubisch 
Memorial Public Library seeks a service-focused  candidate who enjoys 
working in all aspects of librarianship.  This is a full-time position.

RESPONSIBILITIES:  Duties will include providing reference and reader's 
advisory services, working at the circulation desk, and assisting the 
cataloger with basic cataloging  (Dewey Decimal System, MARC format).

REQUIREMENTS:  While a candidate with an accredited MLS degree is 
preferred, an undergraduate degree with at least two years experience in 
libraries would be considered.  Competent reference skills--including 
proficiency in searching Internet databases as well as print 
sources--knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Office, 
and experience using automated library systems are also required. 
 Experience creating and/or maintaining web pages would be a plus.

COMPENSATION:  Competitive compensation commensurate with experience. 
 This position requires a 40-hour work week, including two nights and 
alternate Saturday work.  Benefit package includes paid individual 
health insurance, eleven paid holidays, sick leave, two weeks vacation 
after a year, OPERS retirement, and a deferred compensation plan.
