POSITION OPENING

POSITION TITLE:	Library Systems Administrator

SALARY RANGE:	$29,000 - $40,000, based upon
qualifications and experience

HOURS: 40 hours/week, Monday through Friday; may
include one evening/week

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:	Under the direction of the
Director and the Board of Trustees, the Systems
Administrator maintains the automation systems for the
library, the Local Area Network, and the individual
PCs; trains staff on the use of computer hardware,
on-line systems, and software applications; and is
responsible for maintaining and upgrading all library
computer hardware and software.  Supervises one (1)
full-time computer technician.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in computer
information systems, information technology, computer
systems administration, computer technology, computer
science, or another related field.  Experience working
with various computer hardware and software platforms.
 Good oral and written communication skills.  Ability
to work collegially with other library staff members,
Director, and Board of Trustees.  Strong
problem-solving skills.  Ability to prioritize and
recommend workable technology solutions.  Ability to
work independently as well as in a team environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  Knowledge of or experience
with systems used in libraries.  Knowledge of or
experience with library operations.  Experience as LAN
administrator.
