Kent State University School of Library and Information Science, =
Northern Ohio Technical Services Librarians (NOTSL) and the Technical =
Services Division of the Ohio Library Council have joined forces to =
sponsor a labor force survey for technical services and cataloging =
positions in Ohio. The survey was distributed to technical services =
department managers in academic and public libraries in an attempt to =
estimate the need for positions in technical services and cataloging in =
the next five years. Completing the survey will provide important labor =
force information to the library community and assist the School of =
Library and Information Science in future planning.
Surveys have begun to be returned by those of you who have already =
filled them out. If you receive a survey it should take you no more =
than 10 minutes to answer. We are asking that you return the survey by =
December 13, 2004. The survey is anonymous and entirely voluntary.
Please keep your eyes open for the survey. We need your help.
