Dear Library Colleagues,
I am in the process of planning "Library Careers' Night 2005" at Kent
State's School of Library and Information Science, and I would like YOU
to participate.
The purpose of "Library Careers' Night" is to showcase the myriad
opportunities available in the information field. It also provides
library professionals with the chance to market their libraries and
services, to meet SLIS graduate students, and even to recruit potential
job candidates and interns. Last year, more than 120 current and
prospective students and 50+ library / information professionals attended.
This year's extravaganza will be held on Tuesday, February 15 in the
Kent Student Center. There is no cost to attend. Below is the agenda:
A complimentary buffet dinner from 4:00 p.m.- 5:00 p.m (optional)
A panel discussion from 5:15 p.m. - 6:15 p.m (optional)
A "mix-and- mingle" from 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. (required--you will
have a table to display your materials)
Our students want to hear from all types of librarians--reference,
technical services, directors, systems specialists, outreach services,
etc. etc.
I really hope you can participate. Last year's representatives have
told me again and again that the event was "fun!"
