Description: This class is designed for those who have completed the Access
Basic course and will provide in-depth instruction on proper techniques for
securing a database. This course is designed to provide a complete picture
on the Access security model. Techniques will be discussed to instruct the
user how to fully protect a database on both stand-alone and network
systems. Topics include:
Database passwords
User-level security
Maintaining multiple workgroup files
Creation of user and group accounts
Proper us of command line switches
Also includes is how to recover damaged workgroup information, and how to
troubleshoot common pitfalls in security schemes.
Prerequisite: Familiary with Mcrosoft Access, preferably completion of the
Access Basic course.
This workshop is funded, in part, through an Institute of Museum and Library
Services LSTA grant awarded by the State Library of Ohio.
