PREBLE COUNTY DISTRICT LIBRARY JOB DESCRIPTION

TITLE:    WEB/COMPUTER TECHNICIAN

SUPERVISOR: Director

OVERALL FUNCTION: Create and maintain web presentations and servers and 
perform minor
repairs on microcomputers and peripherals.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
·    Expertise in various web markup languages, web applications (Cold 
Fusion, Java in
particular), graphics and Microsoft products and operating systems.
·    Demonstrable skills in operation of and interest in personal 
computers, peripherals and other
hardware required.
·    Ability to communicate clearly; listen, understand, speak, and 
write effectively, follow
written instructions and manuals.
·    Ability to work without close supervision.
·    Positive customer service attitude to staff and public required
·    Must possess valid driver's license and have own means of 
transportation.
·    Use photocopier, telephone, fax machine, scanner and computer 
equipment.
·    Possess sufficient dexterity, strength and mobility to manage and 
perform the essential
functions below.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
·    Assists staff with hardware problems in all library branches and 
departments.
·    Responds to staff questions and concerns in a timely manner or 
schedules an appropriate time
to follow up.
·    Performs minor repairs on microcomputers and equipment not covered 
by service contracts.
·    Performs day-to-day maintenance on web servers.
·    Troubleshoots web servers and other microcomputer concerns and 
communicates this
information to the Network/Computer Systems Manager.
·    Create (with the assistance of other staff), install and maintain 
web presentations.
·    Other related duties may be required by the Network/Computer 
Systems Manager or
Director.
