Here is a case in which the Patriot Act was used in a case linked to public
libraries.

Internet records led investigators to couple's child porn (The Patriot Act -
the controversial federal law to fight domestic terrorism -- helped
authorities in their investigation and prosecution of suspected Central
Kentucky child molester Terry Adkins and his wife, according to a report
issued this week by the U.S. Justice Department. The Adkinses became the
target of local and federal investigations into a rash of child sex-abuse
incidents in public parks or libraries between late June and mid-July 2003
in Boyle, Boone, Mercer and Scott counties.)
