LSTA Continuing Education Grant Program

The State Library is pleased to announce the second funding round for the
new Continuing Education Grant Program. The program was developed to
"support costs associated in offering continuing education, professional
development,
seminars, and training programs that increase the competencies of library
staff or increase the visibility of the library in the community". This new
grant program will assist the State Library in achieving Goal 1 of the LSTA
Five-Year Plan which focuses on training and continuing education activities
for both staff and customers.

This cycle is intended for events scheduled between January 1, 2005 and June
30, 2005. Requests may be up to $10,000 in federal funds. Electronic
proposals must be received at the State Library by August 1, 2004. Complete
details on the grant program and application requirements can be found at
http://winslo.state.oh.us/publib/lstace.html

As with all LSTA grant programs, this is a competitive grant program open to
all types of libraries. There is a 25% hard dollar match of the total
project amount requested. Applicants should be aware that the intent of the
federal funds is to lessen costs to participants; funds may not be used to
generate a profit.

If you have any questions about the grant program or would like to discuss
your idea prior to applying, please contact Missy Lodge, LSTA Program
