Licensing Electronic Resources Part I - An Introduction to Agreements

Trisha Davis has presented workshops on this topic  for ARL (Association of
Research Libraries ) and at various locations around the country.

Location: OHIONET, 1500 West Lane Ave., Columbus Ohio 

This introductory workshop is intended to help library staff understand
acquisition of electronic resources via license agreements. Sample license
agreements will be used as examples. ALA's "General Guidelines for Creation,
Content and Handling of License Agreements",  will be provided and reviewed.
Recommended as the first part of a two-part serices; see April 30 Licensing
part 2.  For library managers and librarians who deal with acquisitions and
electronic reference resources. 

Member Cost: $75 
Non-Member Cost: $95

Agreement

Research Libraries ) and at various locations around the country.

Description: This intermediate workshop is intended to help library managers
make better acquisition and licensing arrangements. It will include sections
on techniques for editing license agreements, suggestions for working with
legal counsel, and strategies for effective negotiations.  For library
managers and librarians who deal with acquisitions and electronic reference
resources. 

Prerequisite: It is recommended that attendees take Licensing Electronic
Resources, Part one or a similar course first.  

Member Cost: $75 
Non-Member Cost: $95
Save $50 by registering for both parts of this workshop. (see April 23 part
1).
