Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County, Main Library 800 Vine 
Street, Cincinnati Ohio Room 3-B, Third Floor, South Building


      Description:

Please join us for a brief business meeting followed by a tour of some 
of the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County exhibits.
- From Packet Boats to Towboats: An Introduction to Inland River 
Steamboats, the Inland Rivers Library exhibit will be up in October.
- Audubon's BIRDS OF AMERICA, the double elephant folio, is on 
display--one leaf is turned weekly. PLCH recently opened a new volume. 
For those who may be interested on September 2nd at 7:30 pm at the 
Cincinnati Museum Center, Reakirt Auditorium, William Suder, author of 
UNDER A WILD SKY: JOHN JAMES AUDUBON AND THE MAKING OF THE BIRDS OF 
AMERICA will be a guest speaker.
- The end of September is the centennial of Lafcadio Hearn's death. 
There will be a week and a half long conference in Japan at that time. 
The Library will have a display of issues of the original YE GIGLAMPZ, 
some annotated in Hearn's hand.
- Finally, Rare Book Librarian Syliva Metzinger will also bring out 
"Selected Treasures" to display on the reading room tables.


      Member Cost:
