GRANT OPPORTUNITY

The National Endowment for the Humanities is seeking applications for
Planning Grants for Museum, Libraries, and Special Projects.  Projects
should be based on sound humanities scholarship, be of interest to broad
audiences, and deepen public understanding of significant humanities
questions. Grants of up to $40,000 are available; NEH funds typically cover
up to 60% of a project's cost.

Library projects should make their collections accessible to the public
through programs such as a reading or film discussion series, traveling
panel exhibitions, and lectures and public symposia.  The NEH encourages
grantees to digitally disseminate project materials and products, such as
brochures and teacher's guides, to encourage similar projects.  

The deadline for applications is September 16. Application forms and
