DIGITAL AUDIOBOOKS NOW AVAILABE ON CD AT LISTENOHIO

Warren, Ohio-March 17, 2005-ListenOhio, the world's first shared
collection of digital audiobooks, launched in 2001 by a group of
libraries in Northeastern Ohio and NOLA Regional Library System, has
once again expanded the program. In response to participant requests,
the NOLA Board of Trustees has allowed the expansion of the ListenOhio
program to permit the loading of content onto CD's. ListenOhio
currently owns more than 3300 popular digital audiobook titles. While
all titles are stored in MP3 format, NOLA is now using a portion of the
collection to begin offering libraries the option to subscribe to an
audiobook on CD circuit. This program will begin July 1, 2005.
How things work:
Libraries subscribing to this new service would receive a rotating
collection of 20 different audiobooks on CD six times per year, allowing
participating libraries an opportunity to offer 120 audiobook titles to
their patrons every year at minimal cost. Additional kits will be
available for libraries needing more than one collection of titles.
