Subject: [OPLINLIST] NEH Preservation Assistance Grants
=20

NEH Preservation Assistance Grants=20
The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), Division of
Preservation and Access, offers Preservation Assistance Grants that are
intended to help small to midsize institutions gain funding for projects
such as preservation assessments and storage supplies. These are also a
great way to start longer-term preservation efforts; for example, an
institution which receives funding for a preservation assessment survey
can then seek future grant funding to implement recommendations from the
survey.

Awards are for $2,000, $3,000 or $5,000 and no cost sharing is required.
Institutions that have never received an NEH grant are encouraged to
apply. Grant proposals are tentatively due May 16, 2005. Grant
guidelines and forms should be available soon. More information is
available at: http://www.neh.gov/grants/guidelines/pag.html
<http://www.neh.gov/grants/guidelines/pag.html>=20

These grants have allowed historical societies and libraries, in Ohio
and nationwide, to gain assistance with their preservation needs. OCLC
would be happy to assist interested libraries and historical societies
in pursuing these grant opportunities. We can review grant proposals or
talk to you further about these opportunities. If you are interested,
please contact Amy Lytle at: lytlea@oclc.org <mailto:lytlea@oclc.org>
or 800-848-5878 x 5212.

OCLC staff will be at OLC Spring 2005 Chapter meetings, giving a
Disaster Plan workshop "Would've, Could've, Should've," and would be
happy to talk with you further there.
