An announcement via EBSCO regarding NoveList...

- Joel Husenits, OPLIN Managing Editor

Dear NoveList Customers,

To further assist librarians and patrons in locating the works of fiction =
that interest them most, EBSCO Publishing is pleased to announce the =
upcoming release of updated versions of NoveList and NoveList K-8. These =
new editions, which will be available by the end of May 2005, provide =
several exciting enhancements, many of which have been requested by =
existing NoveList and NoveList K-8 customers.=20

NoveList and NoveList K-8, already award-winning and well-respected =
readers' advisory resources that are used extensively throughout the =
United States and Canada, are being enhanced to further meet the changing =
needs of fiction readers. The databases will soon offer a tabbed interface =
for easier navigation and access to their many distinctive features. =
Through an enhanced series search, users of NoveList and NoveList K-8 will =
be able to view the books that comprise a series in the order in which =
they appear in the series (as opposed to publication date, etc.). In =
addition, through the use of NoveList and NoveList K-8=92s new popularity =
sorting feature, librarians will have an easy way of guiding their =
patrons/students to the most widely read books in any genre or topic, even =
if they are not familiar with all of the books that are relevant to the =
patron/student=92s area of interest. In order to alleviate the frustration =
that comes from trying to remember the exact spelling of an author=92s =
name, NoveList and NoveList K-8 will offer phonetic search help that will =
prompt the user with the correct spelling of an author=92s name if the =
user enters an incorrect version.=20

For more information on the upcoming enhancements to NoveList and NoveList =
K-8, please contact us at information@epnet.com.=20

Kind regards,=20
